Gold Star is seeking Class A drivers who enjoy being home every night and working in rural driving environments with modern equipment. We provide feed and nutrition services and handle logistics to deliver to dairies across the Northeast.

Class A driver role involves organizing, performing and completing deliveries of bulk and bagged feeds safely and efficiently, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate truck safely and courteously, prioritizing safety in every delivery task.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and comply with DOT requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck interior and exterior.
• Load, reload and assist with loading as required.
• Inspect equipment to ensure operational and serviceable status.
• Unload feed to the correct location/bin and ensure proper documentation.

At Gold Star, we offer feed and nutrition services and commodity trading in the northeastern U.S., primarily to dairies. As feed and commodity specialists, our customers count on us to originate feed for the mills, manufacture it according to their unique specifications and handle logistics for a safe and smooth delivery every time.

Job Summary

Class A driver needed to organize, perform and complete the delivery of commercial bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner.

• Operate truck in a safe and courteous manner. Safety is first in importance in every delivery task.
• Maintain truck to include but not limited to pre-trip checks, following required DOT and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Responsible for cleanliness of truck including regular washing and cleaning of exterior and interior.
• Loads, reloads and assists other driving in loading as required.
• Inspects hatches, augers and blowers to confirm they are operational and serviceable.
• Responsible for ensuring feed is unloaded to the proper location/bin.
• Ensures accuracy and proper completion of all scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs and associated documentation.

Requirements

• Licenses: Valid class A Commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. Current DMV printout required as part of application process.
• Experience: 2+years CDL-A driving experience required.
• Driving record must meet minimum risk management requirements.
• Language Skills/Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
• Mathematical Skills/Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning: Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Experience: 2+years driving experience.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to include being courteous and safe on the customer's property, public roads and company property.
