Gold Star is seeking individual drivers who enjoy being home every night and working in rural driving environments with modern equipment. We supply feed and nutrition services and handle logistics for safe, smooth delivery to dairies in the northeastern U.S.

Class B driver needed to organize, perform and complete deliveries of bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on safety, timely loading/unloading, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with endorsements (DMV printout required).
• Driving record meets minimum risk requirements.
• 1+ years of driving experience.
• Excellent customer service and courteous on-site and on-road behavior.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck safely and courteously; safety is first in every delivery task.
• Perform pre-trip checks and comply with DOT and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck interior and exterior; wash as needed.
• Load, reload and assist others in loading when required.
• Inspect hatches, augers and blowers for operational readiness.
• Unload feed to the specified location/bin accurately.
• Complete scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs and related documents.

Job Summary

Class B driver needed to organize, perform and complete the delivery of commercial bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner.

• Operate truck in a safe and courteous manner. Safety is first in importance in every delivery task.
• Maintain truck to include but not limited to pre-trip checks, following required DOT and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Responsible for cleanliness of truck including regular washing and cleaning of exterior and interior.
• Loads, reloads and assists other driving in loading as required.
• Inspects hatches, augers and blowers to confirm they are operational and serviceable.
• Responsible for ensuring feed is unloaded to the proper location/bin.
• Ensures accuracy and proper completion of all scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs and associated documentation.

Requirements

• Licenses: Valid class B Commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. Current DMV printout required as part of application process.
• Driving record must meet minimum risk management requirements.
• Experience: 1+years driving experience required.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to include being courteous and safe on the customer's property, public roads and company property.

Physical Demands

• Demonstrate sound judgement in the operation of vehicle.
• Pull, twist, bend and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height as a repeated motion.
• Climb in and out of tractor using proper 3 points of contract.
• Sit for up to 11 hours per day.
• Operate vehicle in all weather conditions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, sitting all day.
• Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location.
• Local area travel required.
