Job summary

Gold Star is hiring a Class A driver to organize, perform and complete the delivery of commercial bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner for dairies in the northeastern U.S. You will operate trucks safely, perform pre-trip checks, comply with DOT requirements, and maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and readiness for daily deliveries, while ensuring correct unloading and accurate paperwork.

Strong customer service, a valid CDL, and 1+ year of driving experience are required to join

Qualifications

• 1+ years of driving experience required.
• Excellent customer service and courteous on customers' property and public roads.
• Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements; DMV printout required.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck safely and courteously, safety first in every delivery task.
• Perform pre-trip checks; comply with DOT and regulatory requirements.
• Keep truck clean inside and out; maintain appearance.
• Load, reload and assist others with loading.
• Inspect hatches, augers and blowers for operation and serviceability.
• Ensure feed unloaded to correct location/bin.
• Complete scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs, and documentation accurately.

Class A driver needed to organize, perform and complete the delivery of commercial bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner.

• Operate truck in a safe and courteous manner. Safety is first in importance in every delivery task.
• Maintain truck to include but not limited to pre-trip checks, following required DOT and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Responsible for cleanliness of truck including regular washing and cleaning of exterior and interior.
• Loads, reloads and assists other driving in loading as required.
• Inspects hatches, augers and blowers to confirm they are operational and serviceable.
• Responsible for ensuring feed is unloaded to the proper location/bin.
• Ensures accuracy and proper completion of all scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs and associated documentation.

Requirements

• Licenses: Valid class A Commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. Current DMV printout required as part of application process.
• Driving record must meet minimum risk management requirements.
• Experience: 1+years driving experience required.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to include being courteous and safe on the customer's property, public roads and company property.

Physical Demands

• Demonstrate sound judgement in the operation of vehicle.
• Pull, twist, bend and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height as a repeated motion.
• Climb in and out of tractor using proper 3 points of contract.
• Sit for up to 11 hours per day.
• Operate vehicle in all weather conditions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, sitting all day.
• Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location.
• Local area travel required.
