Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) to operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck on an established route. The role involves transporting parcels with a Monday–Friday schedule and planned overtime, starting at 11:00 AM.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered and hourly wages range from $23 to $27 based on experience. The position requires pre-trip inspections, loading and unloading freight, DOT compliance, and daily equipment care.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission and drive safely in all routes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight and transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded.
• Verify all load-related documentation for accuracy and completeness; maintain DOT and company safety certifications.
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily; assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.

The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 11:00AM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight
• Transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionallyFull range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
