Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Transport) to operate tractor-trailer or straight truck, moving parcels between terminals. Work Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM start, with 10–15 hours overtime and overtime pay after 40 hours.

Earn $23.00–$27.00 per hour plus a $5.00 shift premium for evening/night starts. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available. Applicants should be 21+, hold CDL-A with good driving record, and be able to pass a DOT pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Must pass a DOT pre-trip inspection and meet company safety standards.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete required forms.
• Maintain certifications per DOT and company policies.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery or pickup as needed.
• Wash exterior of tractor and equipment daily.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 9:00PM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• $5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
