Job summary

Norfolk Iron & Metal in Emporia, KS seeks a driver to secure loads, load and unload materials at each stop, and drive with adherence to DOT rules. You will prepare and review paperwork, wear PPE, and stay safety-focused on every route.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license and a strong DOT safety record.
• Able to work in varying weather and long hours.
• Willing to stay out overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads with straps and tarps.
• Load and unload materials at stops.
• Follow DOT rules for weighing truck and pre/post trips, and for driving, inspecting, operating and testing equipment.
• Complete DVIR paperwork and required records promptly.
• Wear PPE and maintain cleanliness of equipment and cab.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
