Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A driver to operate tractor-trailer or straight trucks and deliver palletized freight. The role includes pre-trip inspections, accurate documentation, and customer pickups.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with overtime expected (10–15 hours weekly) and a $23.00–$27.00 hourly wage based on experience. Paid overtime after 40 hours, Monday–Friday schedule, and a strong emphasis on safety and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection to ensure safety and compliance.
• Submit mileage and maintenance forms as required.
• Deliver palletized freight and pick up shipments from shippers.
• Verify load-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Collect payments for shipments when needed and file bill of ladings.
• Maintain certifications as required by DOT and company policy.
• Wash tractor/equipment daily and assist others with loading or delivery.

The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 7:30AM start - completion of route
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
