Job summary

TAS Environmental Services is seeking a Driver Operator to safely operate heavy trucks and specialized equipment, handle loading/unloading, and manage shipment paperwork. You will work with dispatch and customers, uphold hours-of-service adherence, and perform inspections in various environments, including potentially hazardous cleanup tasks.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and teamwork with the dispatch team and field staff.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license and hazmat/tanker endorsements are required.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics for paperwork and logs.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with DOT and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following traffic laws and hours-of-service rules.
• Load and unload cargo, secure it properly, and manage related paperwork.
• Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher and plan routes accordingly.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and communicate with dispatch and customers.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials per guidelines and safety procedures.
