Job summary

UNFI is seeking a CDL Driver based out of Iowa City. Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, delivering and unloading products, verifying orders, and maintaining trip data. The role involves 2–3 routes per week with 1–2 layovers, and amenities such as paid hotel stays and meal per diems are provided.

Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with a medical card, be 21 or older, and comply with FMCSA rules and UNFI safety standards. Strong customer communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid medical card as prescribed by FMCSA and a valid state CDL (Class A)
• Ability to pass a written exam and road test
• Basic knowledge of DOT laws and UNFI safety standards
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Complying with FMCSA regulations.
• Delivering and unloading products using equipment including tractor trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, and load bars.
• Operating vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and complaints from the public.
• Reporting any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department.
• Picking up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork.
• Addressing and resolving customer problems as appropriate.
• Ensuring customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond to the initial order.
• Communicating professionally with customers and vendors.
