Feeding South Dakota is the state's largest hunger-relief organization, with a mission to end hunger in South Dakota. We provide food across all 66 counties, supporting rural communities, metro areas, and Native American Reservations.

Job Summary

The Class A Driver 1 position involves CDL semi-truck driving throughout South Dakota, including straight-truck deliveries in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas. The role supports food bank programs, warehouse duties, and more. Current hours are Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Transport and unload inventory.
• Maintain driving logs and meet CDL Class A requirements.
• Follow DOT testing protocols.
• Perform vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
• Conduct vehicle checks and maintain logs.
• Maintain a safe driving record.
• Assist with warehouse organization and inventory control.
• Handle product donations and ensure proper storage.
• Guide agencies on product receipt.
• Train and supervise volunteers and staff.
• Support audits and mobile food pantry distributions.
• Perform general center maintenance and cleaning.
• Complete required training and other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting of 50 pounds. Ability to perform heavy, medium, and light work.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• 0-3 years of relevant driving experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Preferred: warehouse experience and customer service skills.
