Job summary

Dixie Plywood & Lumber Co. of San Antonio is seeking an experienced driver to operate flat-bed equipment, deliver building materials and ensure proper loading and documentation. You will tarpaulin cargo, log trip details and maintain vehicle safety checks throughout the day.

Candidates must have a valid CDL Class A and at least three years of tractor-trailer experience, with a strong work ethic and focus on safety and customer service in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Ability to handle physical workload, including heavy lifting and securing loads.
• Ability to ascend/descend in cabs and trailers at stops.
• Flat-bed and tarping experience required.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flat-bed tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport building materials.
• Prepare, receive and provide documentation for delivery or pickup.
• Tarpaulin cargo in inclement weather.
• Maintain DOT travel logs per regulations.
• Inspect truck before and after trips.
• Report issues to Supervisor; maintain professional appearance and customer service.

Job Details: Job Location: Dixie Plywood & Lumber Co. of San Antonio - San Antonio, TX 78219, Position Type: Full Time, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Transportation, Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a flat-bed tractor-trailer (for CDL Class A) or flat-bed straight truck (for CDL Class B) to transport building materials to our customers
• Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of products
• Tarp cargo in inclement weather
• Maintain DOT travel logs according to Federal and State regulations
• Inspect truck before and after trip
• Report any issues or incidents to Supervisor
• Must maintain professional appearance wearing assigned uniform; as well as great customer service when dealing with our customers

Qualifications

• Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields; minimum of three year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Ability to handle physical workload, to include heavy lifting, ability to apply force to tension/strap bar to secure load at each stop
• Must be able to ascend/descend in a tractor-trailer cab and flatbed trailer, at each stop
• Flat-bed and tarping experience
• Must have basic math and reading skills
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
• Strong work ethic
• Able to pass a DOT-required Medical Examination (Medical Card)
• Employment and Driving records must be satisfactory to meet the company requirements (MVR, etc.)
