Job summary

Dixie Plywood & Lumber Co. in Dallas–Garland, TX is seeking a full‑time CDL driver to transport building materials to customers. You will operate flat‑bed trucks, prepare and provide delivery documentation, tarp cargo, and maintain DOT logs daily.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of verifiable tractor‑trailer experience, is comfortable with outdoor work in all weather, and can pass a DOT medical exam along with a clean MVR. Excellent customer service is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Flat-bed and tarping experience.
• Ability to handle physical workload, heavy lifting, and secure loads at each stop.
• Must ascend/descend in a tractor-trailer cab and flatbed trailer.
• Must pass a DOT-required Medical Examination (Medical Card).
• Employment and Driving records must be satisfactory (MVR).
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flat‑bed tractor‑trailer (for CDL Class A) or flat‑bed straight truck (for CDL Class B) to transport building materials to our customers
• Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of products
• Tarp cargo in inclement weather
• Maintain DOT travel logs according to Federal and State regulations
• Inspect truck before and after trip
• Report any issues or incidents to Supervisor
• Must maintain professional appearance wearing assigned uniform; as well as great customer service when dealing with our customers

Qualifications

• Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields; minimum of three year verifiable tractor‑trailer experience
• Ability to handle physical workload, to include heavy lifting, ability to apply force to tension/strap bar to secure load at each stop
• Must be able to ascend/descend in a tractor‑trailer cab and flatbed trailer, at each stop
• Flat‑bed and tarping experience
• Must have basic math and reading skills
