Job summary

Westminster Shores, Saint Petersburg, FL, is seeking a CDL Bus Driver to support the Resident Services department. The role involves scheduling and organizing daily transportation for residents on defined routes, with a part-time schedule (20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends).

Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, operating the bus including the handicap lift, assisting residents, reporting incidents, and ensuring safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement and a Medical Card.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspections and maintenance.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license free of driving violations or offences.
• Education: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect company vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips; complete the vehicle log after each trip or at the end of the scheduled outing.
• Operate the vehicle safely, including maneuvering in heavy traffic, in tight areas, and using the Handicap Lift; secure wheelchairs using the Shure-lock system.
• Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company vehicles.
• Assist residents on and off the vehicles and during scheduled outings.
• Follow traffic laws and regulations and perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles.

We are currently searching for a CDL Bus Driver to work in the Resident Services department. In this role, the CDL Bus Driver is responsible for scheduling, planning, and organizing the daily transportation services for the residents over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule.

Schedule: Part-time position, 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday with occasional weekend shifts.

This position is responsible for:

• Inspect company vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Complete the vehicle "Log" after each trip or at the end of the scheduled outing.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, etc. Must be able to operate the company vehicle in all types of weather and conditions. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight areas.
• Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company vehicles.
• Operate the controls of the Handicap Lift – assist residents when utilizing the lift. Secure wheelchairs utilizing the "Shure-lock" wheelchair tie down system on the bus.
• Assist residents on and off the vehicles and during scheduled outings.
• Safely operate company vehicle and follow traffic laws/regulations/local ordinances/FDOT regulations when operating the company vehicle.
• Assist with the preventive maintenance of the company vehicles

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Must possess a valid CDL License with a Passenger Endorsement. Must provide copy of a valid Medical Card (CDL). Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspections and maintenance. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid FL driver's license free of driving violations or offences.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Lifting up to 60 pounds, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, stooping, speaking, and hearing.
