Job summary

Athens-Clarke County is seeking a part-time Vehicle Operator to operate mainline buses and specialized vans, pick up and drop off passengers, collect fares, and provide friendly customer service along prescribed routes. The role is safety sensitive and requires a CDL with Passenger Endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of experience operating a mainline bus and/or specialized van preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates all Transit Department vehicles including mainline buses and specialized vans.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports defects.
• Provides route information and assists passengers with fare payment.
• Maintains safe driving practices and compliance with regulations.
• Completes required reports and maintains records as needed.
