Job summary

JASA seeks a CDL Driver for the Bartow Older Adult Center in the Bronx, NY. You will operate 12- and 18-passenger buses to transport program participants to scheduled trips, activities, and services, ensuring safety, comfort, and a positive experience.

The role requires a NY CDL, at least one year of driving experience, and a patient, customer-service oriented approach. Shift is Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM, supporting daily operations and helping older adults stay active and connected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience.
• Experience operating passenger buses or CDL-required vehicles preferred.
• Experience transporting older adults or community members preferred.
• No more than one moving violation within the last two years.
• No history of DWI convictions.
• Valid New York State CDL required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to relate effectively and empathetically with older adults.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned agency vehicles, including 12-passenger and 18-passenger buses, to transport program participants to and from scheduled trips.
• Utilize a valid New York State CDL to operate agency passenger vehicles in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of all passengers during transportation.
• Assist participants as needed when boarding and exiting vehicles.
• Maintain vehicles and follow all transportation safety requirements and regulations.
• Complete and maintain accurate trip tickets, mileage records, and other required transportation documentation.
