Job summary

City of Chesapeake Virginia is seeking a part-time bus driver with a Class B CDL and a passenger endorsement to transport participants in Therapeutic and Senior Programs. The role supports City events and activities, ensuring safety and reliability of transportation services for children and individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of one month of related, full-time experience.
• CDL Class B with Passenger Certification required to drive a bus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a van or bus on assigned routes and schedules to transport passengers to and from activities, tours, and events.
• Maintain records of passenger attendance, behavior, mileage and vehicle condition.
• Supervise passengers for safety and orderly conduct; assist passengers on/off vehicle as needed.
• Support program staff with supervision and activities between travel times.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service in line with City standards.
• Complete and submit passenger incident and vehicle accident reports as required.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report concerns to supervisor.
