Job summary

QXO is seeking a Special Truck - Boom Operator to safely transport building materials, load and secure shipments, and ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations. You will coordinate with dispatch, inspect sites, and load products including oversized components as needed.

Candidates must be 21+, hold a valid Class A or B CDL, and have 12+ months of verifiable commercial driving experience. NCCCO certification is required; boom experience is preferred. Outdoor work in all weather is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Boom experience preferred.
• NCCCO required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE
