Job summary

Republic Services in Chicago, IL seeks a Driver – CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and service customers on scheduled routes with courtesy and professionalism. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are available.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, obey safety policies, complete daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and ensure compliance with all regulations. A Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement is required and a positive safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure safety equipment and fluids are in proper order.
• Safely operate the truck on routes, service customers on the route sheet, and follow dispatcher directions.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact with customers and dispatchers professionally to ensure timely servicing.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required; monitor for unacceptable waste.
• Maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime and complete required reports (VCRs, route sheets).
• Adhere to safety policies and participate in the ReSOP program.
