Pitney Bowes in Ashland, VA is seeking a CDL B Driver for the 3rd shift at our Presort Services facility. The hourly rate is $21, paid weekly, with possible overtime. The schedule runs Monday–Friday from 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM.

Qualifications

• Must be minimum 21 years old.
• Valid CDL Class B license.
• Minimum 6 months straight/box truck driving experience in last 3 years.
• Must be flexible and able to work mandatory overtime including weekends/holidays.
• Ability to read and speak English to communicate with the public.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and walk/stand.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read a map.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles per pre-trip inspection guidelines daily.
• Maintain a daily driver’s log or route sheet.
• Maintain pickup/delivery schedules meeting deadlines using software tools.
• Ensure mail is reviewed for proper dates and attached pickup slips.
• Keep work area clean and ensure safety precautions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Report any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately.* Maintains a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilization of TMW system.* Maintains pickup and delivery schedules meeting deadlines utilizing software tools.* Knows and understands safety and security precautions and follows company policies and keeps vehicle clean.* Ensure the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.* Ensures USPS equipment is used only for the movement of “Live” mail.* Returns client damaged or undeliverable mail, following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.* Uses all required cell phone applications.* Keeps work area clean by ensuring mail bins are under machines or in APC’s, plastic straps are off floor to prevent possible tripping hazards, and sweeping the floors between assigned pickups or deliveries, and all other duties as assigned.As a **CDL B Truck Driver,** **you have**:* **Must be minimum 21 years in age.*** **Ability to drive a CDL Straight/Box Truck or equivalent.*** **Valid CDL Class B state motor vehicle operator’s license in the state where the driver resides and meets applicable DOT requirements for CDL.*** **Must have a minimum of 6 months verifiable Straight/Box Truck driving experience in similar sized vehicles (i.e., Straight Truck) within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.*** **Must be flexible*** **Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.*** Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop and bend with or without accommodation.* Basic Computer skills and ability to read a map and understand directions.* Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice. **Our Team:** Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS.
