Job summary

Upstate Medical University Shuttle Service in Syracuse, NY is seeking a part-time CDL B Shuttle Driver for 2pm-6pm shifts. You will transport hospital employees between parking areas using newer 24-passenger shuttles and follow all safety protocols.

Ideal candidates have a NY Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, a valid medical card, and strong customer service skills. 20+ years old with driving test and background checks completed. Weekly pay and potential weekend hours available.

Qualifications

• A valid NY Class B or higher CDL with passenger endorsement is required.
• A valid medical card is also required.
• Background checks and driving test will be conducted.
• Must be over 20 years old and have customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons in a polite manner and assist them as needed.
• Safely shuttle customers to various destinations.
• Open and close doors for patrons.
• Adhere to traffic laws and signals for safe shuttle operation.
• Communicate with customers and staff, including radio calls.
• Complete pre-trip inspections to meet safety requirements.
• Record passenger counts and trip times.
• Complete daily paperwork and reports as required.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment (signs, cones, etc.).
• Sweep shuttles and maintain cleanliness; report mechanical issues.

Salary Range: $25.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Shuttle Drivers needed to drive for Upstate Medical University Shuttle Service in Syracuse, NY. These are local, steady routes transporting hospital employees to and from their parking areas.

We're currently looking for PT staff who can work Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm, with the opportunity for other hours on the weekends if desired. This is a year-round position, with no long shutdowns. We will consider staff interested in 2, 3, or 5 afternoons per week.

Shuttle drivers earn $25/hour to start. Weekly pay!

The vehicles are newer walk-on 24-passenger shuttles that are cleaned and maintained regularly.

• Full-time help is eligible for Health/Dental insurance available after 90 days (50/50 split), and paid vacation after one year. Room for advancement! Must be over 20, customer service experience is a must! A valid NY Class B or higher CDL with passenger endorsement is required. A valid medical card is also required. Background checks and driving test will be conducted.

Shuttle Driver- Job Description

The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited tothe following:

• Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
• Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
• Opening and closing doors for patrons
• Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
• Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers and lot attendants
• Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
• Recording passenger counts and trip times
• Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
• Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones etc.)
• Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
• Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
• Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
