Job summary

Distinctive Schools is seeking a School Bus Driver to transport students to and from two Chicago locations: CICS Bucktown and CICS West Belden. The role reports to the Director of Transportation and is a full-time position starting November 2026.

Responsibilities include safe student transport, route adherence, and routine vehicle maintenance. Preferred CDL-B and school-bus endorsements; strong safety record and flexibility with routes.

Qualifications

• CDL-B license required.
• Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Endorsement, Illinois School Bus Permit.
• Successful background check.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and the public.
• Able to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Pickup/drop-off students along established routes.
• Transport to special events and field trips.
• Drive safely along designated routes and follow timetable.
• Obey traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Assist passengers with disabilities to board the bus.
• Travel up to 100 miles as needed.
