Job summary

The City of Elkins, WV is seeking a full-time sanitation driver to operate packer-type trucks on residential and commercial routes, transport loads to disposal, and perform basic vehicle maintenance.

Under supervision, you will complete routes on schedule, assist co-workers, prepare logs and forms, and follow safety procedures; may lead in supervisor's absence. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with 1–2 years in equipment operations.
• Must possess a valid West Virginia CDL Class B driver license.

Responsibilities

• Operates packer-type refuse trucks with hydraulic lifting device on assigned routes.
• Completes routes on schedule and loads/unloads materials as needed.
• Inspects equipment and reports maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Maintains logs, reports and forms accurately.
