Meridian Waste in Greenville, SC seeks an experienced local CDL driver for a home-daily role with steady, year-round work and overtime. You'll safely operate a roll-off truck to service commercial and construction sites, load and secure containers, and perform pre/post-trip inspections.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL or higher with air brakes.
• 2+ years of commercial heavy-truck driving; two or more years preferred.
• Roll-off experience not required; training provided.
• Acceptable driving record and DOT requirements.
• Pass pre-employment background check.
• Ability to operate a large commercial vehicle at construction sites and congested areas.
• Read and understand work orders, safety instructions, maps, GPS directions, and customer information.
• Complete required electronic and written documentation.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a roll-off truck to deliver, remove, exchange, and relocate containers at commercial, industrial, and construction sites.
• Transport containers to landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and other designated locations.
• Operate roll-off hoist, hydraulic, cable or hooklift equipment as applicable.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
• Evaluate service locations for safe access and hazards.
• Inspect containers for overloading or unsafe conditions.
• Properly tarp and secure containers and loads before transport.
• Safely back and maneuver at construction sites and customer locations.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate service issues.
• Complete required work orders and disposal documentation.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions; avoid unsafe conditions.

SCHEDULE

Normal start time is 5:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Overtime is a regular and expected part of this position, with drivers typically working 50–60 hours per week. Occasional weekend work may be required.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a roll-off truck to deliver, remove, exchange, and relocate containers at commercial, industrial, and construction sites.
• Transport containers to landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and other designated locations.
• Operate roll-off hoist, hydraulic, cable or hooklift equipment as applicable.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
• Evaluate service locations for safe access, clearance, ground conditions, overhead power lines, and other hazards.
• Inspect containers for overloading, prohibited materials, damage, or other unsafe conditions.
• Properly tarp and secure containers, loads, doors, and related equipment before transport.
• Safely back and maneuver at construction sites, customer locations, disposal facilities, and other confined or congested areas.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate service issues, delays, blocked containers, or unsafe conditions.
• Complete required work orders, inspection reports, and disposal documentation.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Work outdoors in normal rain, heat, cold, and other weather conditions. Drivers are not expected to operate when weather or site conditions make the work unsafe.
