Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Roll-Off Driver in Peoria, IL to safely collect waste from customer sites and transport it to disposal facilities. The role requires a CDL with roll-off experience, hazmat and tanker endorsements, and the ability to operate heavy equipment and lift up to 100 lbs.

Outdoor work in varied weather is expected. Responsibilities include inspections, route documentation, reporting issues, and maintaining clean, safe equipment.

Qualifications

• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement required.
• CDL with 2+ years Roll Off experience preferred.
• Ability to safely maneuver, back up 120+ feet, and operate heavy equipment in tight/high-traffic areas.
• Capable of repetitively lifting 50 lbs (occasionally 100 lbs).
• Work outdoors up to 100% of the time in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate roll-off truck and equipment to collect waste following all safety procedures.
• Complete daily pre-/post-trip inspections, route documentation, and truck reports.
• Report mechanical issues, hazards, or incidents to supervisors.
• Maintain clean equipment and follow route quality standards.
• Wear PPE at all times and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Attend safety/branch meetings and work overtime as required.

Role Overview: The Roll-Off Driver safely, efficiently, and courteously provides waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of business. Responsibilities include collecting waste from customer sites and transporting it to post-collection facilities for proper disposal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate roll-off truck and equipment to collect waste following all safety procedures.
• Complete daily pre-/post-trip inspections, daily truck reports, and route documentation.
• Report mechanical issues, potential site hazards, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
• Maintain clean equipment and follow route quality standards.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Attend safety/branch meetings and work overtime as required.

Requirements:

• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement required
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with 2+ years of Roll Off experience highly preferred.
• Ability to safely maneuver, back up (120+ feet), and operate heavy equipment in tight/high-traffic areas.
• Capability to repetitively lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs (and occasionally up to 100 lbs).
• Ability to work outdoors up to 100% of the time in varying weather conditions.
