Job summary

Republic Services in East St. Louis, IL is seeking a Relief Driver with a CDL-B to safely operate collection trucks and service customers on designated routes.

You will ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards, complete daily vehicle condition reports, and maintain route productivity while adhering to all regulations. The role emphasizes courteous customer interactions, accurate reporting, and proactive participation in safety programs.

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate the truck on assigned routes and service customers.
• Load refuse using appropriate controls and dispose at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and staff daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure safety.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean surrounding area after routes.
• Complete route productivity sheets and required reports.
• Adhere to productivity standards and safety procedures.
• Participate in ReSOP program and other duties as assigned.
