Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH Company, is hiring a skilled driver in Mobile, AL. This role delivers soils, aggregates and other materials to residential and commercial sites, performs pre/post trip inspections, and ensures safe operation and basic maintenance.

Class B license required; good radio communication and record-keeping essential. You will work as part of a team, follow instructions, and support project crews across the southeastern U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of related experience.
• Must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Must keep time and material records.
• Must follow verbal and written instruction.
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 30 lbs and be able to climb, sit/drive, shift gears, cover/uncover loads, change wheels, adjust lugs, use hand tools such as wrenches/screwdrivers.
• Driver will be responsible for loading and unloading large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control.
• The driver is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver soils, aggregates and other materials to locations residential and commercial.
• Make pre- and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment.
• Load and unload materials as required.
• Perform minor servicing and basic maintenance.
• Record time and material usage accurately.
• Communicate effectively on the radio and follow instructions.
