Job summary

SpartanNash Military in Norfolk, VA is seeking a full-time driver to operate Class A trucks in the transportation yard and provide local deliveries. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and maintain DOT logs, while coordinating with dispatchers and warehouse staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (required).
• One-year minimum CDL A driving experience required.
• Must pass DOT physical examination and DOT pre-employment drug test.
• Must be able to work up to 60 hours per week including nights and weekends.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read maps and route schedules; follow DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial truck within the transportation yard and deliver to local customers.
• Maintain the yard, fueling station, and equipment in clean, safe condition.
• Perform trailer inventory, secure loads, and ensure proper documentation.
• Deliver products, assist unloading, verify items, and obtain signatures.
• Follow DOT logs and complete post-trip duties and paperwork.
• Inspect vehicle pre-trip and post-trip; report defects and coordinate maintenance.
