Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Yard Jockey Driver to safely move and position trailers in the facility yard, support daily transportation operations, and provide coverage for Long-Haul and Roll-Off driving as needed.

The role requires a Class A CDL, a DOT Medical Card, and a minimum of 2 years of tractor-trailer experience. You must pass pre-employment screening and be able to work a rotating 3 days on / 3 days off schedule, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum 2 years tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Experience with Yard Jockey/terminal tractors preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Rotating 3 days on / 3 days off schedule, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely move, stage, and position trailers in the yard to support daily operations.
• Perform routine trailer spotting and yard management for efficient workflow.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Operate Yard Jockey trucks, tractor-trailers, Roll-Off trucks, and other vehicles as assigned.
• Provide coverage for Long-Haul and Roll-Off routes during vacations and absences.
• Learn and perform dispatch functions, including weighing trucks and trailers.
• Complete DOT logs, inspection reports, manifests, and transportation documentation.
