Job summary

Paraco Gas seeks a Yard Jockey to move trailers in our Waterbury, CT yard. You will inspect tractors, reposition trailers, and may operate a forklift, ensuring safety and efficient workflow. You’ll help with loading/unloading and complete shipping docs.

The role runs M-F from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and reliable outdoor performance in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with HazMat (H) and Tank Vehicle (N) endorsements required.
• Clean and safe DOT-compliant driving record.
• Experience operating a switcher truck preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude appreciated.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Docking and repositioning of trailers within the yard.
• Moving semi-trailers in a cargo yard environment.
• Inspecting tractor and containers for safe operation.
• May operate a forklift as needed.
• Assist in manual loading/unloading of product or equipment.
• Complete documentation such as bills of lading.
