Job summary

Chesapeake Spice Company is seeking a dependable yard jockey associate to support our distribution operations in Belcamp, MD. You will move trailers with a yard truck, hook up equipment, and ensure safe, accurate placement for loading and unloading during the 1st shift.

Responsibilities include performing DVIR inspections, communicating with dispatch and drivers, and adhering to safety protocols. A CDL and clean driving record are required, with potential for additional warehouse duties during

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years in a distribution or warehouse environment preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years.
• DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening required.
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
• Forklift certification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard truck to move trailers to/from dock doors and staging areas.
• Hook/unhook trailer landing gear, airlines, and electrical connections safely.
• Perform pre- and post-trip DVIR inspections per DOT and company policy.
• Communicate trailer status to supervisors and drivers during shift.
• Follow all safety protocols and yard traffic patterns at all times.
• Assist with light warehouse or dock duties during downtime.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
