Job summary

Staffmark currently hires for a CDL A Yard Hostler in Union, OH. Earn $25.00-$28.00 per hour with a 3-day work week, home-daily schedule, and no-touch freight while moving dry van trailers locally. The temp-to-hire role offers a fast hiring process and immediate start for qualified drivers.

Primary duties include moving trailers, operating yard tractors, performing yard movements, and ensuring safety procedures. Valid CDL-A, DOT card, and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license and DOT Medical Card.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clean MVR.
• 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years).
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (past 3 years).
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (past 5 years).
• Previous Yard Hostler, Spotter, or Yard Jockey experience preferred.
• Strong backing and trailer maneuvering skills.
• Ability to operate yard tractors and dry van trailers safely.
• Comfortable driving on local roads between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Move and position dry van trailers throughout yard and facilities.
• Operate yard tractors, spotter trucks, and equipment safely.
• Transport trailers between local warehouse facilities.
• Perform drop-and-hook movements and trailer spotting.
• Back trailers into dock doors and maneuver in tight yards.
• Follow DOT and company safety requirements and inspections.
• Communicate with dispatch and teams about trailer movements.
• Maintain accurate records as required.
