Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC is hiring full-time Class A Yard Drivers in California. Earn up to $80,000 per year with home daily schedules and a comprehensive benefits package. Requires a valid Class A CDL, DOT medical card, and compliance with DOT and safety standards.

Eligible drivers must be domicile in the U.S., possess or obtain the necessary licenses, pass background checks and drug screening, and maintain regular attendance. Training opportunities are available across locations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S.
• Licensed in their state of residence.
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required.
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the past 5 years.
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
• Work the required schedule.
• Work at the specific location required.
• Submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history).
• Drug screening required.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
• The associate must be able to see and hear.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.
• Lifting up to 50lbs/23kg regularly and up to 100lbs/45kg occasionally.
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.
• Safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of the dock as directed by management.
• Couple and uncouple trailers.
• Chocking trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors.
• Be flexible and willing to leave the yard to support local deliveries and recoveries.
• Check tires and fuel throughout the day.
