Job summary

Schneider is hiring a Van Truckload Driver Instructor to coach and onboard new drivers at our Carlisle, PA area operation. You will lead hands‑on training in the truck and in the classroom, teaching safety, trip planning, and our workflow systems.

The role emphasizes a proactive safety stance, driver retention, and clear feedback to help drivers grow into rewarding careers with Schneider.

Qualifications

• Prior instructor or training experience preferred.

Van Truckload Driver Instructor

Home time: Daily

Experience: 12 months or greater CDL experience

Job responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.

• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.

• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.

• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.

• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.

• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.

• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.

• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.

• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.

Pay and bonus potential

• $7,500 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for experienced drivers.

Driver qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

• DOT physical card.

• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.

• Live within 60 miles of Carlisle, PA.
