Job summary

Schneider National in Carlisle, PA is seeking a Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers, delivering classroom and hands-on training in trucks and on-site at our facilities.

You will teach safety, hours of service, trip planning, and Schneider's tablet/workflow system, act as safety advocate and driver retention ambassador, and help prepare drivers for a safe, rewarding career with the company.

Job responsibilities

• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.

Skills qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.

Driver qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• DOT physical card.
• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• Live within 60 miles of Carlisle, PA.
