Job summary

Schneider National in Wilmer, TX, seeks an experienced Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new CDL drivers. You will train in both classroom and truck environments, focusing on safety, hours of service, trip planning, and Schneider’s policies.

You will use Schneider's tablets and workflow system and help drivers develop a long-term, safe career with the company. We value a positive, professional attitude, strong coaching skills and a willingness to train according to company

Qualifications

• Past instructor or trainer experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills are required.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.

Driver qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• DOT physical card.
• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• Live within 60 miles of Wilmer, TX.
