Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a qualified Commercial Truck Driver to operate a Truck Tractor safely, back and maneuver in tight spaces, and maintain logs and paperwork. The role requires a Class A CDL, good English communication, and the ability to work independently in varying conditions.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of driving experience or finished Truck Driving School with 1 year of driving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a commercial truck driver or completion of Truck Driving School with 1 year driving experience.
• Must pass FMCSA DOT physical and Drug screen.
• Must be able to work required hours to complete all necessary tasks.
• Need good hand-eye coordination with a high level of dexterity.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders (up to approx. 20 feet).

Responsibilities

• Operate a Truck Tractor in a safe manner.
• Perform backing and turning of a combination vehicle in tight working areas.
• Maintain required trip logs, records, and manifest.
• Complete all needed paperwork on a timely and accurate basis.
• Maintain vehicle appearance and cleanliness.
• Make minor repairs to truck tractors and trailers.
• Assist in loading and unloading as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required.
