Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a CDL A Driver to operate standard diesel trucks and trailers for loading and delivering steel products. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, familiarity with DOT regulations, and basic computer skills. You will maintain accurate records and uphold safe driving practices.

The position emphasizes reliable customer service, ability to handle unloading duties, and flexibility to work in varying weather conditions while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current/valid Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsements preferred.
• At least 9 months of experience with large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles.
• Familiar with GPS and basic computer software (Microsoft Office).
• DOT laws, rules and regulations must be followed; reading/writing ability required.

Responsibilities

• Operate diesel straight trucks and tractors with various trailers to pick up steel products and accessories from suppliers.
• Follow prescribed methods and ensure loads are secure and compliant with DOT regulations.
• Keep accurate records such as Driver’s Trip Reports and Daily Logs.
• Maintain courteous relations with customers, receivers, and suppliers, and unload/load as needed.
