Job summary

The SYGMA Network in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Materials Handler to support Transportation and Warehouse teams by preparing equipment for loading, unloading and dispatching according to company standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Class A CDL, and about 1 year of tractor-trailer experience. You will work varying shifts with overtime and ensure safety, sanitation and timely operations in a fast-paced food-distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Move trucks and trailers between locations per door assignments to complete loading timely.
• Ensure trailer/truck loaded and secured; verify refrigeration unit is operating.
• Maintain food safety and sanitary conditions in building, warehouse, yard.
• Complete trailer sanitation and cleaning.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and inventory.
• Handle returned merchandise per standards.
• Account for load bars and bulkheads; store properly; manage repairs.
• Trip to service terminals for refueling and repairs when needed.
• Picks up local backhauls or deliveries to customers/vendors.
• Follow safe work methods and report unsafe conditions.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Communicate with management about issues.
• Work schedule and overtime; attendance.
