Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a CDL Class A driver to operate tractor-trailer or straight truck on designated routes. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, report issues, and ensure safety compliance under OSHA and DOT regulations.

You will work with Operations Manager and Dispatch to optimize routes, handle service changes, and maintain clean, debris-free work sites. A valid CDL, 18+ years, and pre-employment screening are required.

Qualifications

• CDL-Class A required.
• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and Company requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using eDVIR and notes issues for repair.
• Reports unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch.
• Participates in training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Works with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify unsafe accounts.
• Completes all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Notifies of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol.
• Communicates customer requests or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch.
• Completely dumps containers and leaves location clean; positions containers without blocking driveways or traffic.
• Follows route assignments and completes documentation at end of route.
