Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Tractor Trailer Driver in Oakland, CA to transport and deliver construction equipment and support branch operations. The role requires a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements, and a history of safe, professional driving.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and maintain accurate paperwork while coordinating with dispatch for timely pickups and deliveries. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years tractor trailer driving experience in the last 3 years.
• Commercial Driver's License, Class A, with tanker endorsement.
• Current medical card.
• HazMat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of employment; assistance provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver and retrieve construction and heavy equipment.
• Operate commercial or non-commercial vehicles safely and professionally.
• Maintain professional customer service and communication with branch/dispatch.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document inspections.
• Keep delivery documents organized and available for inspection.
• Ensure safe handling and securing of loads.
• Coordinate with Branch Manager/Dispatch for schedules.
