Job summary

Empire Expedited Inc. is seeking a Solo OTR Company driver to operate Tractor-Trailers on the east coast with a assigned Peterbilt. You’ll be responsible for safely transporting a variety of cargo while staying compliant with DOT regulations.

The role offers competitive pay, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, weekly pay, and opportunities for professional growth. You will drive independently yet coordinate with dispatch for efficient, on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A with clean driving record.
• Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or dry vans preferred.
• Ability to load/unload and secure cargo correctly.
• Ability to perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Excellent route planning and safety compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across designated routes in compliance with DOT rules.
• Load and secure freight for transport.
• Deliver various cargo types (refrigerated, flatbed, general) to multiple destinations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any issues.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimize fuel use.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and delays.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and delivery documents.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across designated routes while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Load, secure freight.
• Deliver a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, and general freight to multiple destinations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards.
• Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, load details, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class-A license.
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dry vans is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of freight handling including load & unload procedures and securing cargo properly if you pull a flatbed.
• Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
• Excellent route planning skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Solid understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards to ensure compliance at all times.
