Job summary

Empire Expedited Inc. is seeking a Solo OTR Company driver to operate on the east side of the U.S. You will have an assigned new Peterbilt and be supported in your professional growth. The role emphasizes safety, on-time delivery, and efficient routing across varied cargo.

We offer weekly pay, a $2,500 sign-on, an inspection bonus of $100, occupational insurance, referral bonuses, and annual bonuses. Must be 1 week out on the road at a minimum and enjoy independent work with teamwork.

Qualifications

• CDL Class-A license required with active DOT medical certificate.
• Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and dry vans preferred.
• Solid knowledge of cargo handling, securing loads, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions on assigned routes.
• Load and secure freight for transport.
• Deliver various cargo types including refrigerated goods and general freight.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance.
• Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel use.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and delays.
• Maintain accurate logs of hours and cargo details per regulations.

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across designated routes while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Load, secure freight.
• Deliver a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, and general freight to multiple destinations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards.
• Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, load details, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class-A license.
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, dry vans is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of freight handling including load & unload procedures and securing cargo properly if you pull a flatbed.
• Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
• Excellent route planning skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Solid understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards to ensure compliance at all times.
