Job summary

The role runs 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and requires coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams, performing pre/post-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate movement records in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years verifiable Class A CDL driver experience.
• Clean DOT driving record and safe driving history.
• Willingness to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Solid knowledge of DOT hours of service and regulations.
• Availability to work the 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A vehicles and yard goats to shuttle trailers between UNIS facilities within a local radius, ensuring on-time movement.
• Conduct pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections and report defects per DOT requirements.
• Execute yard spotting and trailer positioning in high-volume yards to optimize loading/unloading flow.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch, yard supervisors, and warehouse teams regarding trailer status and issues.
• Adhere to hours-of-service, safety procedures, and company policies; contribute to safety and efficiency.
