Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations and turn around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive tandem, tractor, or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role includes communicating with customers and co-workers, ensuring proper paperwork, and maintaining safe, timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• 12+ months commercial driving experience
• CDL-A with doubles endorsement
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations
• Reports safety issues and/or repairs
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
• Ensures route paperwork is available
• Drives and delivers trailers per schedule
• Performs hook/unhook procedures
• Parks and stores tractor trailers
• Locks and secures equipment and freight
• Moves damaged goods and returns in trailer for check-in
• Unloads all equipment and removes trash
• Completes daily hours-of-service log per regulations
• Keeps tractor, loading dock area clean
• Performs other related duties as assigned
