Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A semi-local driver for a retail account in Illinois. Expect no-touch freight with frequent home time and a strong weekly home-time pattern, typically two nights on the road each week and a 48-hour reset.

Earn $85,000–$95,000 per year with preplanned loads, on-site management, and regular driver recognition programs. Training with a mentor precedes solo dispatch, and weekend or night operations may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
• DOT Medical Card
• No SAP Drivers
• Ability to assemble and disassemble doubles equipment
• Flexible schedules including weekends and nighttime hours
• Able to operate safely and legally at all times

Responsibilities

• Haul retail freight from a distribution center to retail stores across the route network.
• Handle no-touch freight and store returns.
• Loads are preplanned, typically up to one week in advance.
• Assemble and disassemble doubles equipment at pickup and delivery locations.
• Work with specially equipped trucks designed for doubles operations.
• Complete training with a mentor before solo dispatch.
• Occasionally assist other accounts or intermodal operations during slower periods.
• Account-specific shirts, hats, and PPE are provided.
