Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Route Driver in Illinois to operate a semi-truck or vacuum truck for collecting animal materials and grease from customer locations. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, DOT logging, and maintaining professional customer relations.

The role requires a CDL A with tanker endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights or weekends as needed. Prior route experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• CDL A license with tanker endorsements is required.
• Must be registered on Clearinghouse FMCSA.
• Preferred: prior route experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Willingness to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Collects and inspects raw material at pickup for foreign or hazardous material.
• Operates vehicle and ensures cleanliness; completes route tickets with customer signature.
• Maintains an Electronic DOT log and daily vehicle inspections.
• Provides receipts and maintains customer relations with professional service.
• Completes all required paperwork daily (route tickets, inspection reports, etc.).
• Travels to assigned routes and adheres to safety policies.
