Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a professional CDL Class A driver in Ohio. You will operate late model Freightliner tractors pulling 53' reefers, with routes to plants, distribution centers, and customers. Enjoy competitive pay, a $3,000 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Schedule is Tue-Sat, 4am–4pm, with 6th day optional for HOS-eligible drivers, home daily. Expect 1,800–2,000 miles weekly, no-touch freight, and a mix of drop/hook or live-load/unload. Relocation package is available.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience.
• Able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Operate a CMV in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and DVIRs.
• Transport loads per dispatch; ensure load security and biosecurity.
• Maintain Hours of Service logs via ELD or paper logs.
• Report accidents, citations, and defects promptly.
• Attend driver safety meetings and trainings.
• Keep truck clean and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with weekly guarantee tasks such as washouts, fueling, spotting, weighing, and maintenance reporting.
