Job summary

Qualdoc in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Class A CDL driver to support railroad emergency response and track operations. This hands‑on role involves transporting equipment, operating heavy machinery when qualified, and assisting with derailment recovery and track maintenance.

This full‑time, direct‑hire position offers guaranteed hours, substantial overtime (60+ hours/week), 24/7 on‑call availability, and travel-related per diem and hotel pay.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Experience in construction labor or similar physically demanding work.
• Ability to pass required qualification, training, and safety programs.
• 24/7 availability for emergency calls, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment per DOT regulations.
• Drive tractor-trailers to job sites and verify overweight/oversize permits.
• Participate in daily work planning and safety briefings.
• Load, unload, stage, and secure equipment for rerailing, load adjustment/transfer, track maintenance, repairs, and new track construction.
• Assist with crane assembly, inspection, operation, and breakdown/loading.
• Rig using chains, cables, and winches during derailment response.
• Operate equipment such as cranes, backhoes, grapple trucks, dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, rail-bound equipment, tractors, and skid-steer loaders when qualified.
• Perform work involving lifting, rerailing, load transfer, grading, track maintenance/repair, and railroad construction.
• Use hydraulic tools, welding equipment, cutting torches, electrical tools, and hand tools.
• Monitor vehicles and equipment for safe operation and perform minor servicing.
• Report complex mechanical issues to supervision.
• Restock vehicles with required parts and supplies.
• Sort and store scrap materials.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow safety policies.
