Job summary

Wieland is hiring an Over-the-Road Driver for our Granite City, IL location. You will transport raw materials and products across the United States, operating on-site and reporting to the supervisor. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, 5+ years of experience, and a clean DOT record.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 22 years old and have a valid Class A CDL.
• Clean driving record with no DOT-defined accidents in 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Knowledge of DOT rules, company policies, and applicable laws.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Able to read and understand freight documents and logs.
• Capable of using a camera to upload photos per policy.
• Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Committed to safety and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues with proper documentation.
• Comply with DOT rules and company policies.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Ensure trailers are locked out and chocked before loading/unloading.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Stay in contact with supervisor and dispatcher for instructions.
• Work safely and timely to meet customer and company requirements.
