Job Description

As an ACE Regional Driver, you will deliver gas grill cylinders to AmeriGas locations using a tractor-trailer truck. In this role, you will load and unload pallets of cylinders at AmeriGas district locations and production facilities. Layovers may occur to comply with DOT regulation hours, and the truck is equipped with a sleeper cab. You will be responsible for achieving delivery and repair objectives and will communicate daily with the ACE Operations Manager regarding work activities. Participation in tank refurbishing may also be required to meet customer needs.

Compensation

• Hourly rate: Starting at $28
• Average of 40-50 hours weekly
• Overtime pay after 40 hours worked at time and a half
• $5,000 sign-on bonus – $2,500 paid after 90 days and $2,500 paid after 1 year

• Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home Time: Home every night! (Layovers may occur to comply with DOT regulation hours, and the truck is equipped with a sleeper cab.)
• Shift: Day shift schedule; start times vary by location; shifts will be 8 to 12 hours depending on fluctuating needs
• Scheduling requirements year round:
  • Committing to a paid rotating on-call schedule to respond to emergencies after hours
  • Note: when on-call at this location vehicle can be taken home
• Hours can vary during peak season. Can work up to 60 hours a week
• Working 6-day work weeks with 10-hour shifts and paid overtime
• Working weekends and holidays
• Level of Touch: Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to specified destinations

Responsibilities

As a Regional Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering propane to our customers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for safe and timely deliveries to meet operational goals and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver gas grill cylinders to AmeriGas locations via tractor-trailer truck.
• Load and unload pallets of cylinders at AmeriGas District locations and Production Facility.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulation hours, with layovers possible; sleeper cab available for overnight stays.
• Communicate daily with the ACE Operations Manager regarding work activities and progress.
• Achieve delivery and repair objectives to meet customer needs.
• May participate in tank refurbishing to maintain product quality and service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid CDL A license
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements required
• Must have a minimum of 6 months CDL driving experience with a clean driving record and/or 150,000 verifiable miles
• Propane industry experience is a plus
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to load/unload 50-pound cylinders (up to 200/day) and pull 75-pound hoses that are 150 feet or more
• Satisfactory completion of a DOT physical, drug test and background check
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 30 miles of Noble, IL with no more than a 45-minute commute or be willing to relocate for this position
